Our meetings take place on the first Tuesday of the month from October through June with 2 consecutive lectures in the afternoon and early evening at 2 different locations.
The lectures are given by qualified speakers of many different nationalities and cover a range of topics of archeological and historical interest as well as associated subjects.

The talks are given in English accompanied by projection of illustrations, photographs, and diagrams.

Venues
Afternoon meeting:
14:30 at the Museu do Trajo in São Bras (= New venue as of Jan 2009)
Evening meeting:
18:30 at the Convento de São José in Lagoa
The lectures will start promptly at the above mentioned times.
Guests are welcome to attend the lectures on an individual basis at a fee of 5 Euro pp/ per lecture.
Following the evening meeting in Lagoa the speaker is usually invited to dinner in a local restaurant and participants of the meeting interested in joining the dinner are welcome to do so.
Before the afternoon meeting lunches will be arranged with interested participants prior to the meeting.
Directions
Directions to Muséu do Trajo exit 14 from the A22, direction São Brás. After leaving motorway approx 500m. turn left signposted São Brás. Follow this road as it winds uphill for several kms. At roundabout, go straight, signposted São Brás Centro. Continue past LIDL, going right at next roundabout, following signs to Centro. This becomes a one way street into the centre. As you come into the main square go east (turn right) towards Tavira. The Museum is approximately 300 m. further on, on the left side of the road. Turn left just past the main museum entrance for parking. Enter the museum either via side entrance or through main entrance to the museum. There is also a café in the grounds of the museum which is open from 2.00pm and also is available after the meeting.
Directions to the Convento de São José in Lagoa. Coming from either the West or the East, take the A22 Motorway as far as the Silves/Lagoa exit. At the roundabouts on either side of the highway follow the direction of Lagoa. After a couple of hundred meters on the dual-carriage way take the exit signposted Lagoa-Norte. At the roundabout at the end of the ramp take the first right (going back over the road). At the roundabout on the other side, go straight ahead. After a kilometer or so you will reach the edge of Lagoa. Bear right at the roundabout and keep straight on to traffic lights – you can now see an archway ahead. Immediately before the archway, there is a sharp narrow turn into a small car park for early comers. Otherwise, pass under the arch. The Convento is immediately after the arch on the right. For more extensive parking, turn right at the crossroads immediately after the Convent. Continue past church on left, looking for parking places. If none, take second turning to right, signposted Finanças, where there is plentiful parking available. Distance from the roundabout off motorway, first mentioned above, to Convent is exactly 2 kms.
